MUSIC FOR PICTURE & CONCERT HALL by ROB NORTHCOTT

A hard-hitting feature-length documentary that examines whether a charity organized by TV evangelist Pat Robertson to aid Rwandan genocide refugees was a front for diamond mining.

Rob assisted Doctor Who composer Murray Gold with the score for this film, with a particular focus on string writing, African percussion and ambient textures.

The film was part of the Official Selection at many major film festivals including Toronto Independent Film Festival, idfa 2014 and Doc NYC Festival.

SELENON RISING

Rob is the Lead Composer for this episodic future-noir adventure game.  You play as Violet, an agent who hunts down those who commit the crime of using high technology.

To accompany the distinctive manga-flavoured artistic style, striking drawings and absorbing story, Rob's music had to be at once energetic, atmospheric and slightly alien.  It has a film noir style whilst still taking influence from Japanese cartoons and famous RPG's such as Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts.  Selenon Rising is available to play on Steam.

BRITTEN PEARS FOUNDATION &

THE BERWICK CONSORT

In the summer of 2016, Rob was given a bursary by the Britten-Pears Foundation to spend time composing concert works at the former home of composer Imogen Holst, in Aldeburgh, Suffolk.

Rob spent his time in Aldeburgh working on a commission he had received from talented vocal octet The Berwick Consort, setting Emma Lazarus' poem 'Off Rough Point.'  The group added the piece to their repertoire for their summer tour, performing in venues around Suffolk and London.
